Also this year we were awarded with , the prestigious competition among the best coffee roasters in the world organized by the International Institute of Coffee Tasters (IIAC). The competition took place in Milan between 29 and 30 November 2018. In the record edition of this year, 126 roasteries from 19 countries of the world participated with more than 300 coffees in competition. All cafes were rated blindly by 31 members from 12 countries according to the sensory method developed by the International Institute of Coffee Tasters. Caffè Mokito was awarded the Gold Medal in the “Espresso Italiano” category with both the “BIANCO 100% Arabica” blend and with the “EMERALD Blend”. The first is a blend 100% Arabica composed of 5 origins all from Central and South America and presents in the cup a marked but balanced aroma, while the SMERALDO blend is a blend 80% Arabica and 20% Robusta always composed of 5 origins of which 4 of the Arabica species and 1 of Robusta from India; this blend already winner in 2016 is packaged only in 2 kg cans in a modified atmosphere so that the floral and chocolate aromas bitterness that distinguish it can be kept constant until the moment of grinding. The result is very satisfying for us at Mokito since it is the demonstration of how much effort and investment in the selection of green coffee, control over all supply chain processes up to the finished product lead to constant results and standards high quality products made available to its customers. Last but not least, to allow all our customers and not only to make the most of the quality of the Mokito blends from this year the Mokito Coffee Academy was created, place meeting place at the center of which is the training of the barista of any level, in the courses prepared, specific cafeteria themes are dealt with from the basis of the preparation from espresso to more advanced Latte Art courses, alternative extractions to espresso e selection and evaluation of coffees.
